The original building was constructed in 1948 with a hybrid concrete and steel structure to support multiple large assembly rooms. Through the decades multiple additions and reconfigurations had been made to the original structure. Stripped to its original concrete core and shell, FAS provided restructuring, reorganization and a new skin for our clients at Menlo, giving them a refreshed asset for their office/commercial portfolio. For the exterior, FAS worked closely with Porcelanosa in Spain and Los Angeles to engineer and design a second skin using their proprietary sub-structural and porcelain panel system.
